Seuss!
One of the best parts thus far of fixing up our house has been the addition of the "kids" room. We haven't lived in our house a year yet and every room in the house has been completely redone. (Except for the middle bedroom.) We had left the extra bedrooms alone because we really weren't sure what to do with them, and we didn't spend a lot of time in them. One became our computer/craft room and the other was simply an extra room for when people came to stay.
It's no surprise to any one that knows me well that I LOVE Seuss. I love everything about him as a person and his books. I do Grinch day and Dr. Seuss day at school and those kids are in fifth grade! I love him! You can never be too old for Seuss! When we decided to enter into this adventure and found out that we basically had to have a room ready I of course wanted a Seuss room! I had seen a Lorax nursery on Pinterest that I fell in love with! I started searching some more and found a TON of Seuss lovers like myself and the nurseries that they had done. I am crafty, yes, but talented no. So I called up a wonderful friend of mine from college who was MORE than happy to come and help me. Honestly she did it all, I just filled in with some paint. The room looks AMAZING! It looks better than I ever imagined it could! Every time I walk into that room I am AMAZED that it is in OUR house. It looks like something straight out of a Seuss book! If he were alive today I think even good ol' Theodore would be impressed. Many people have joked about our kids not liking Seuss, ha ha ha ha, they don't now me very well! If you lived with me you would have no choice. He's just so darn fun. The other joke is what happens when it id time to paint over it and do something else? Oh then, then the kids are moving to the basement and I get to take back over the room as my craft and sewing room. This room will last forever. If we ever move, believe me, it will be in the contract that they CANNOT paint over it. (Okay, maybe that is a bit extreme, but c'mon this room is awesome! Wait 'til you see it!)
I will be forever grateful to my friend and college roommate because there is no way this room would 1. be finished, 2. look anything like I wanted it to, 3. look this AMAZING! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Believe me when new people come over, it's the first thing I show them.
Enjoy!
